Just a thought, because contrary to accepted opinion I really don’t know everything, but back to the subject which is Google’s ever changing algorithm.

The reasons for changing the algorithm according to Google is to produce quality original content in search results and cut out spam, copied, duplicate content.

This is a noble ideal on behalf of Google who by the way don’t really care what shows on the top of their pages in the form of Adwords as long as the spammer is paying them.

But the thought that comes to mind is that the only people who are going to be able to keep altering their seo in reaction to Google’s changes are people who can afford to do so, and who wants to be top of search and has lots of money available to accomplish this.

Well seeing as Apple has more reserves than the US government as do a lot of corporations you do not have to look to far in your quest to see who can afford to match Google move for move.

Like all things good in capitalism, it won’t be too long before the search results being spewed out by the search engine run by the corporation that is Google will be dominated by their corporate brothers.

With this in mind the question comes to light: What is a poor guy to do.

And the only answer I can come up with is find a way to make a buck that is not reliant on Google unless you can afford to deal with their endless search for original content.

And here is a tip if you think original content is the answer you are severely delusional, I have a website/blog with hello world as its only content and it is PR2, I also have a blog with hundreds of original posts which is PR0, which goes to show what Google really thinks of original content.

The answer like all things will unfold with time, in the mean time beware of how much time and effort you apply to mastering Google, even the back-linkers might be in for a shock one of these days.

It really amazes me to hear all the so called web master minions freaking out because big G changed it’s algorithm and now it’s supposedly harder to rank for some stupid keyword or other.

And now half the sheep herd is sweating bullets because the super hero Matt Cutts is going to devalue exact keyword domain names in favor of brand-able domains like Google, yahoo or Reddit.

Here’s the deal from the perspective of “content is king”, I personally have a blog with hundreds of unique articles written personally by me, myself and Irene’s half sister once removed and the stupid blog is rated PR1 by the G man and ranks for zero keywords.

Now I also have a blog or two with little content that rank PR1 and are ranked on the first page for many keywords,

The thing that really amuses me is that Google being God and all, still has to revert to using back links to rate a websites relevance in relation to a keyword because it does not, repeat does not have the technology to rate content.

Google is like a latter day Stalin, they have seized control of the web and anointed themselves supreme ruler, but like the Soviet Union they are merely passing time waiting for the next nerd to come out of Stanford or MIT and tear down the iron curtain.

The web isn’t going anywhere but the same certainty may not apply to Google, dictators always seem to come to an untimely end.

So loosen up web people, for as long as the G man needs to use back links to rate websites in relation to keywords then the web is still the wild west and basically anything goes.

Unless someone in Google takes it upon them self to manually slap your site then you are dealing with a robot/computer program and these entities will never outsmart a determined spammer.

Content, take it from me is not king, a domain is a domain is a domain and I personally would rather own something like bad credit car loans dot info than yipes dot com. The thing is that yipes like yahoo or Google takes a whole pile of folding money and time to brand whereas bad credit car loans is self explanatory.

For as long as Google uses back links to decide who is on the first page results then all that really matters is anchor texted back links.

And as for exact keyword domain names, try getting one on the first page for a competitive niche without back links and you will see how much value there is (or isn’t) in having the keywords in the domain name.

Once again, at the risk of being charged with keyword stuffing, and to quote Bill Clinton’s publicists: “Its the back links stupid.”

Up to and until Google learns how to rank content without the need to consider back-links affiliate websites like Amazon will continue to dominate first page results. Just as with Shakespeare’s rose by any other name still smelling as sweet a back-link even when it goes by the name affiliate link carries link juice.

And you thought Amazon where giving you 4% out of the good of their heart.

So I’m sitting in my basement at my computer and to be honest I don’t feel much like writing some article about some stupid niche that I hate just to try and get an adsense click or sell some useless ebook so I thought I would write something here.

I used the title make money online for free because I didn’t know what to call this post so I opened the Google keyword tool and put in make money online and the keyword make money online for free gets 2400 exact monthly searches so I thought why not.

I’m not really sure that it is possible to make money online for free except of course if you feel that your time in worthless and therefore you can sit and write articles and spam blogs to your hearts content and perhaps you might make a few cents that way.

Personally I have found that the way to make money in any line of work is to invest first. Imagine you decide to become a plumber and you go out to a home without any tools just a few lengths of copper pipe, tell me how do you expect to plumb the house, how will you cut holes in the joisting to lay the pipe in you have no drill or saw.

Same with making money online, you need the tools of the trade as well as the know how. One without the other is not going to make you a success, all the tools in the world won’t turn a monkey into a webmaster, and a webmaster without tools is no better than a monkey.

Some spammer with a good comment posting tool can post 1000′s of backlinks while he/ she is asleep, while a person with good intent posting manually will post like 100 links manually if they can motivate them self to keep going all day.

And don’t start off talking about black hat as being immoral or against the rules of the Gman. Tell that one to JC Penny or the other corporate blackhatters who go unnoticed.

A blackhatter is a little guy who does something G doesn’t approve of. A big guy who performs the same act times a million is merely looking for a competitive edge.

The question you have to ask yourself as you sit there looking at the money not flowing in is. Why not me!!

So you have two choices if you want to make money online, either find ways to get lots and lots and lots or backlinks pointing to your money page or starve.

If you are not on Google’s first page you won’t make any money.
